Big League Softball World Series 2015

Here is the Lombardia Big League Softball Team which participated in the World Series 2015 in Roxana, Delaware last week.

Once more, it was a great experience, not only as regards softball but first of all considering the good atmosphere and the spirit which permeated these 10 days on and off the field.

All games were tough for us but together we learnt how to cope with difficulties and downs on and off the field. The girls sticked together and showed their value in the end by winning the last game. But battling was of course the highest performance, especially when things got rough…

Nine players of the BULLS club team  had the opportunity to live this experience which they will hopefully take with them onto our fields in the next competitions and games.     We need to work harder and get better but we will try to draw inspiration from this very particular week.

We also had the great honour to be awarded the Little League Sportsmanship Award as a team. The girls really deserved it and showed the best softball spirit all week long, making friends and spreading out happiness and joy.

My special thanks to all the girls, the coaches on my staff, Dante and Tomas, and all the parents and friends who supported us during these weeks.

It was a great team adventure!

The dream came true

Here we are, after Kalamazoo in 2011, a Big League Team from Lombardia is heading to the States to play the World Series.

This time after a real tournament played in Italy against two Regional Selections from Cataluña, Spain, and from Bavaria, Germany.

A good bunch of girls, high spirit and lots of dreams: these are the 2015 Big League Europe & Africa Champs, whom I have the honour to lead in this new adventure.

Merry Christmas from the Bulls !

Dear friends,
the Christmas Season has inevitably come this year too and we are all ready to celebrate and hope for a better year to come.

The 2014 season was a real bless for the Bulls, reaching the playoffs of their league for the first time in their history and coming really close to winning the championship and stepping up to the first Italian division.

Our young team still needs time to develop and get stronger so this year we will try to reach he target of the playoffs again and do better!

To all my friends in softball all over the world I want to send you my BEST WISHES and a strong HUG !

Lots of love

Happy 2013 !

Dear softball friends,

it’s been a while since I last updated CoachlillyBlog. As usual life keeps us very busy and the last months of 2012 were again full of things to do and nice plans to fulfil.

It will be the first year of the BULLS in Softball Division II ( A2 ). We know it is not going to be easy but we are surely going to battle for every game and have a lot of fun together.

It will also be a year of expansion for our club: together with the ladies’ team we will have two ( maybe three ? ) girls’ teams ( U13 , U16 and possibly U21 ), one team of MINIS ( 5 – 9 yr old ) and one team of U13 boys. Our school promotion program goes on, involving primary and elementary schools in our town and the surrounding area.

Another year of international softball is ahead, again with cooperations around Europe and Little League E.M.E.A. finals.

Most of all I wish us all friends in softball lots of energy, enthusiasm, hope and faith : this is what will keep us going and give every single day sense and meaning.

Happy 2013 !

Back from Williamsport

This last weekend I had the honour to serve as International Member in the new Softball Advisory Board of Little League International in Williamsport.

It was a great experience which gave me more insight into the world of LL as it is seen and felt overseas.
On my side, I tried to bring up my thoughts and views of things from the perspective of Europe and the rest of the world.

Here are some pictures of this nice experience for which I thank you all my new LL friends:

spring has come in Abrantes

Nice weather, enthusiasm and dedication to softball are the ingredients for the newest experience with Portugal Softball.
From Saturday 18 to Monday 20th – will be working with Portoguese coaches at 1st level international instruction clinic run by Jim Jones and ISG. Thanks to all new friends from Portugal for their efforts and participation !
