Big League Softball World Series 2015

Here is the Lombardia Big League Softball Team which participated in the World Series 2015 in Roxana, Delaware last week.

Once more, it was a great experience, not only as regards softball but first of all considering the good atmosphere and the spirit which permeated these 10 days on and off the field.

All games were tough for us but together we learnt how to cope with difficulties and downs on and off the field. The girls sticked together and showed their value in the end by winning the last game. But battling was of course the highest performance, especially when things got rough…

Nine players of the BULLS club team  had the opportunity to live this experience which they will hopefully take with them onto our fields in the next competitions and games.     We need to work harder and get better but we will try to draw inspiration from this very particular week.

We also had the great honour to be awarded the Little League Sportsmanship Award as a team. The girls really deserved it and showed the best softball spirit all week long, making friends and spreading out happiness and joy.

My special thanks to all the girls, the coaches on my staff, Dante and Tomas, and all the parents and friends who supported us during these weeks.

It was a great team adventure!

The dream came true

Here we are, after Kalamazoo in 2011, a Big League Team from Lombardia is heading to the States to play the World Series.

This time after a real tournament played in Italy against two Regional Selections from Cataluña, Spain, and from Bavaria, Germany.

A good bunch of girls, high spirit and lots of dreams: these are the 2015 Big League Europe & Africa Champs, whom I have the honour to lead in this new adventure.

Merry Christmas from the Bulls !

Dear friends,
the Christmas Season has inevitably come this year too and we are all ready to celebrate and hope for a better year to come.

The 2014 season was a real bless for the Bulls, reaching the playoffs of their league for the first time in their history and coming really close to winning the championship and stepping up to the first Italian division.

Our young team still needs time to develop and get stronger so this year we will try to reach he target of the playoffs again and do better!

To all my friends in softball all over the world I want to send you my BEST WISHES and a strong HUG !

The BULLS season is coming to its highlights. Sunday we will be facing our direct opponents, Saronno team in a doubleheader on our home field.

The tension is high, we are looking for two great games !

BULLS Season 2014 – It started at last !

 

Today, Sun 11 May we finallygot to play our first doubleheader for the new softball season with the BULLS team.
The first two playing days had not beenused due to rain delays and resting days… so we were the only ones still to start our season !
Waiting was anyway worth while : our first two games were two sound wins – 10-0 and 9-2 and this set the good mood for the whole team.
Now we’ll go on playing our season until August 3rd.

Coachlilly website renewed

At the beginning of the new year I am glad to introduce you to the new section of my website , dedicated to baseball and softball under 10.
After 25 years of coaching I have actually started working with very young children in kindergarden and primary school programs, trying to adapt our sports to an approach suitable for this very particular age.
Dealing with children under 10 ( and their families ) involves extra knowledge and experience which I think will never be enough.
The new website section – PRIMI SWING ( First swings ) will work as a repository of useful materials to share with all coaches interested in starting developing programmes for youth baseball and softball.
The first contributions are translations from the English ( mostly from specialized websites such as Positive Coaching Alliance ) but more will be coming in different languages soon.

Another season with the Bulls !

Another year is about to end, another season is approaching.
The good things remain, others change.
What matters most, the good friends and the high spirit are still with us and they have their home in our team.

Italy wins second U13 European title in Collecchio

 

Second edition for the ” Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy ” in Collecchio and second gold medal for an Italian U13 team.
